Run For The Gift Of Life a Project of Rotary Club Cebu

Rotary Club Cebu returns on its third year the Citrineland Corporation Run for the Gift of Life. The event is scheduled to happen on Sunday, May 19, 2019, with an assembly time of 4:30 AM and the starting line at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

More than a decade ago, Rotary Club Cebu established the Gift of Life program that is centered on helping out children with heart problems and giving them hope on a renewed life. This attracted other national organizations to help negotiate and reduce medical cost. The Gift of Life International has been known to heavily support the program by developing their medical staff to the Philippines in hope of creating capable centers that can handle any kind of cardiovascular operations.

With the main goal to spread public awareness towards children having Congenital Heart defects (CHD), Citrineland Run for the Gift of Life has also attracted active runners, people looking for an avenue to relieve stress or anyone who simply want to support the medical operations, equipments, and trainings of doctors geared towards the sole beneficiaries, the indigent children suffering from CHD.

The result of last year's run was phenomenal. It resulted to ninety-seven children, each having different cases of CHD receive heart surgeries and catheterization procedures last December 15, 2018.

Beneficiaries have to go through a thorough assessment at the Gift of Life Desk located in the outpatient area of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center(VCMMC). They can be visited every Wednesday from 8AM to 11 AM.

Making a difference in this world is a difficult task for many people. However, it can be as easy as participating Citrineland Corporation Run For the Gift of Life. Registration sites are at Digital Walker, Cyberzone, Sm City Cebu, Digital Walker 3rd floor Ayala Center Cebu and Concierge, TGU Tower, I.T Park. Deadline of submission will be on May 16, 2019. Walk-in participants are also welcome.
