Work + Study + Play at Bluewater Resorts

by , in

To the Filipino family, the coronavirus pandemic presented a whole new level of challenges as we all try to keep our sense of normalcy and sanity intact. Its effects are apparent with the way we conduct work and school activities as most of us are now cooped up at home with online office work while the kids keep themselves busy distance learning activities. All these are happening while we all have been stuck in our houses especially the kids for more than half a year now. Mental health is now becoming an issue, more so with what used to be mundane like a stable internet connection, the neighbors’ barking dogs, and the usual power interruption has now taken a whole new level of importance as we struggle to make a sense out of the new normal.

Recognizing these challenges, Bluewater Resorts is rolling out its WORK + STUDY + PLAY campaign. A program that makes use of existing resort infrastructure and facilities to help our loyal guests address and adjust to their current stations.

Coming at the heels of a very successful Work From Bluewater promo which allowed working professionals access to the resorts robust IT infrastructure hence the tagline "No Wi-Fi, No Problem". Bluewater's internet connection can handle multiple online meeting connections without any loss of network quality or speed. Using leased lines coming from multiple service providers, our internet service can deliver consistent and reliable internet connection even if one service provider conducts routine maintenance on their system. In the past months, the resort has seen young professionals conducting their work activities inside the resort, it is heart-warming to see several educators conducting their classes using our facilities. Our rooms are also equipped with long tables that are just perfect for the kids to conduct their classes or for mom and dad to hold their meetings or do their reports. We have prepared for this situation as the entire country went into lockdown.

The onset of the rainy season or monsoon weather has also brought about power interruptions in the Metro and surrounding community. Bluewater Resort can offset these with its standby generators ready to deliver uninterrupted power supply to guests who will avail of its WORK + STUDY + PLAY offer, no more fears not being able to attend an important meeting or miss written work and synchronous sessions for the kids. The wide-open spaces of the resort also offer nooks for those who want to work or study in relative silence. No dogs, no carpenters hammering, no loud videoke singers or noises that are the bane of our online commuting activities at home.

To top it all off, the opportunity to just close your laptop and take a few steps for a refreshing dip in the pool or a stroll on the beach with the kids after they are done with school is readily available. Imagine being able to mix work and leisure for both parents and kids, no more waiting for the weekend or holidays. Just book a room or a day pass and guests can already make use of the resort facilities after the day's work is done. It allows the family to make use of their extra time to bond and create more meaningful experiences while they are staying with us.

Bluewater Resorts’ WORK + STUDY + PLAY offers several options to make this happen whether it's just for a day's access to use the facilities or in-house stay. Guests who want to stay at the resort can request rooms dedicated to the WORK + STUDY + PLAY and the reservations or the lobby personnel will ensure that they are given these special rooms complete with study tables and other amenities put especially for them to work, study and play.

THE GREAT CEBU SALE SEES GROWING ONLINE TRAFFIC

by , in

CEBU CITY - The Great Cebu Sale (GCS) 2020, Cebu’s first ever industry-wide virtual sale event, has noted a growing online traffic, as organizers urged consumers to take advantage of the best deals they could get from their favorite merchants.

Camille Aldeguer, the chairperson of GCS, shared that for the first week of the virtual sale, which started on Sept. 15, they have recorded over 3,000 visitors on the GCS’s official website www.thegreatcebusale.com.

“We expect this to increase moving forward especially if more people will be aware that some of Cebu’s famous brands are offering great deals and promos this time,” she said.

Most of the site visitors come from the Philippines, followed by the US, Japan, Singapore and Qatar. On a city basis, top visitors come from Ceby City, followed by Iloilo City, Davao City, Quezon City and Makati City.

“Based on the feedback we’ve received, people are eager to go out and relax, many have therefore purchased overnight stay promos offered by our resorts and hotels,” Aldeguer said.

In fact, the sites of tourism-related companies are the most accessed by GCS visitors. They are followed by electronics, lifestyle, home essentials, and food and beverage (F&B).

“The promos offered by our resorts, hotels and F&B establishments are our top deals,” she said.

Aldeguer said they seek to further raise awareness on the ongoing online sale event among shoppers.

The GCS official website is up and running to promote the promos offered by the participating merchants.

“The website does not have a payment platform. The fulfillment of the order or purchase lies directly under the responsibility of the participating company,” she said.

Webinars

GCS organizers have also scheduled various webinars throughout the sale period to stimulate interest from the public, said Raki Urbina, co-chairperson of the GCS.

“Apart from the industry-wide virtual sale, the GCS will also be hosting various webinars to help guide businesses, retailers and consumers on the new normal,” he said.

On Sept. 28 and 29, GCS has scheduled a two-part webinar series entitled “Rethinking our Business and Repurposing our Facilities for Survival and Sustenance #Diskarte” on Sept. 28 and 29 (for the first part) and on Oct. 5 and 6 (for the second part).

On Oct. 12 and 13, another webinar dubbed as “Redefining and Optimizing the Essential Components of Retail in these Most Challenging Times” will also be conducted.

On Oct. 19 and 20, GCS will also host a webinar on “Leading by Emotional Intelligence with Stressed-out Workforce and Anxious Guests and Customers.”

According to Chester Lim, president of the Philippine Retailers Association in Cebu, the main organizer of the GCS, they are planning to extend the conduct of webinars through the holiday season.

“Extending the webinar towards the holiday season is a good idea. In fact the initial plan is to do a monthly sale per industry. We will just probably wait for the outcome of this one before deciding to proceed with the next sale,” Lim said.

If the virtual sale will be extended, there will be a different set of offers and promos for the Christmas season, Lim added.

Raffles

GCS organizers also announced they are raffling off prizes every week to stimulate participation from the public.

There are three ways for you to join the raffle, namely through Facebook, by joining the webinars and through submission of proof of purchase of at least P1,000 and above from any of the participating merchants between Sept. 15 to Oct. 31, 2020.

Submit your entries by messaging the official FB page of GCS or email via info@thegreatcebusale.com the receipt with complete name, address, mobile number and email of the customer.

“We will be announcing the weekly winners every Monday starting Sept. 28, Oct. 5 and 12, Oct. 19 and 26 and Nov. 2,” Aldeguer said.

“Our official delivery partners Lalamove will deliver the prizes to the address you officially registered,” she added.

She said a person can submit multiple transactions per week for greater chances of receiving prizes. Please visit the FB Page of Great Cebu Sale for more detailed mechanics.

The GCS introduces Cebu’s top brands in the hospitality, wellness, travel, automotive, fashion, hardware, electronics, and food industries.

ANJO WORLD REOPENS, ADAPTS THE ‘NEW NORMAL’ IN AMUSEMENT TOURISM

ANJO WORLD REOPENS, ADAPTS THE ‘NEW NORMAL’ IN AMUSEMENT TOURISM

MINGLANILLA, CEBU - Anjo World, owned and operated by Belmont One, is reopening its doors and is ready to welcome guests as it adapts the new-normal measures for the amusement tourism.

Cebu’s premier amusement park, located at the Belmont One Commercial Complex in Barangay Calajoan in Minglanilla town, is officially resuming operations on Friday, September 11, after months of closure due to the community quarantine amid the Covid-19 crisis.

“As we slowly reopen the economy back, we at Anjo will continue to deliver a fantastic place for everyone minding the new health protocols for the safety of all our guests,” Belmont One President Chester Lim said.

Anjo World is implementing several health and safety measures such as capacity management (50 percent capacity), frequent hand washing and sanitizing, physical distancing, temperature checking, health declaration for contact tracing, wearing of face mask, non-contact access of entry and exit points, contact less ordering of food and frequent disinfection of facilities and rides.

Lim said the company’s Health Infection and Prevention Control Officer) will regularly check whether all of these health protocols are properly observed.

“Guests will have more confidence when they will see that we are health and safety compliant,” the company executive said.

Lim is optimistic that local tourism will start to pick up as Cebu continues the trend of flattening the curve.

“People will start to go out as we have been locked down for too long and we deserve a break to reward ourselves, spend time with our families and friends,” he said.

The reopening of Anjo World will also help institutions in its value-chain such as restaurants, food carts and suppliers, he added.

“Since international tourism will take time to reopen, we expect a boom in our local tourism towards the last quarter of this year especially during the Christmas season,” Lim pointed out.

Lim also disclosed that Anjo World will continue to slowly open up other facilities and attractions in the next couple of weeks as the government ease out the quarantine restrictions.

“We want to position Anjo World as still Cebu’s top family destination, but now a safer theme park for all. Being a member of International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), we were prepared as early as July with adapting to the new normal. Theme parks from abroad shared their best practices in keeping their parks safe,” said Cedric Reyes, Head of Sales, Marketing & Press Relations of Anjo World.

The amusement park has stepped up its implementation of health and safety protocols to adhere to government mandates. It has already secured a Special Mayor’s Permit from the local government of Minglanilla and Certificate of Compliance from the Cebu Provincial Tourism Office to resume receiving tourists again.

“We are positive that our guests will feel confident and continue to frequent Anjo World as one of their favorite family destinations. We are ready for the challenges of the new normal,” Reyes said.

“Ride safety is not enough, but also our guests’ health and welfare are also top of our priority. The new normal will bring inevitable changes and challenges to keep us on our toes,” Reyes added.

Anjo World is also boosting its adoption to technology by encouraging cashless payment option for both tickets and food to lessen contact at its facilities.

“Perception is going to be vital in gaining trust of park guests. We are hoping to eventually raise attendance capacity once restrictions have lessened,” he said.

Apart from the existing 12 thrilling rides at the park, Anjo World is adding more mid-way games called FUNtastic Arena, wherein guests can play “can smash” or throw some hoops and win larger than life stuffed toys.

“We have embraced and adapted the new normal, intensified our safety team and formed new health protocols for the safety of both guests and team members,” he said.

Anjo World is offering various promos as it seeks to regain visitor confidence.

For one, it is participating the upcoming Great Cebu Sale from September 15 to October 31, 2020. Guests may purchase three Day Adventure Pass (DAP) and get one free DAP ticket (unlimited ride ticket per person, per day).

As its way of recognizing the frontliners, Anjo World is also offering them a P100 discount on tickets.

The frontliner, who must be a bearer of a proper IATF identification, may purchase a regular DAP ticket (unlimited ride ticket per person, per day) at only P500 (weekend rate) instead of P600.

Customers may visit the park’s official website
