As an organization that seeks to empower women through service and advocacy, Zonta International believes it is important to recognize its clubs and districts for their outstanding service projects that benefit women in their communities. These awards serve to highlight the incredible service work that Zontians perform to improve the lives of women and girls in communities across the globe. The District Awards are given at the end of each biennium at the District Conference and recognizes significant contributions to the empowerment of women and gender equality. Awards are presented to clubs who have accomplished district goals in such areas as advocacy, service, public relations. Zonta Club of Cebu II is an active member of District 17 composed of 76 clubs with 2,461 members from the Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, and Macau.

Members of Zonta Club of Cebu II participated in the District 17 Conference held in Hong Kong in last October 2019 where the club reaped honors for innovative and trailblazing service endeavors for women and children in the community. The club received recognition for the Best Centennial Local Service Project for “Breakthrough behind the Cells”, a series of medical missions that benefited female inmates at the Mandaue City BJMP. It also received an award for the Best Centennial Advocacy Award for the package of activities that marked the annual “18-days of Activism” where different stakeholders took part in symposia and empowering workshops on effective strategies to eliminate Violence against Women (VAW) to encourage broad participation by emphasizing that everyone has a role to play, engaging not just duty-bearers but also other stakeholders, especially at the local level.
Since the organization's founding in 1919, Zontians have dedicated the last century to empowering women, both in and outside of Zonta. To celebrate these achievements, Zonta Clubs all over the globe were encouraged to undertake Zonta Centennial projects and Zonta Club of Cebu II was recognized with the Centennial Anniversary – Honour 100 years of Zonta Award for their “100 books for 100 families project and for the Giant Photo Tarp that was displayed at the Ayala Center where 100 women from various sectors in the community called with one voice to “Say No to Violence Against Women and to Say Yes to Gender Equality”.

Not stopping there, Zonta Club of Cebu II garnered the Centennial Leadership Development Award and the top award that recognized the club’s overall contribution to the ideals of Zonta International in Service, Advocacy, Education and Leadership Development, the Centennial Star Club in Excellence Achievement Award – Diamond Category.
