This virtual camp for children started with a KUMUSTAHANAY session among CPMS children from Grades 3 to 6 and the Grade 6 graduates. This allowed children to share the challenges they have while in ECQ or GCQ. It was very important to provide a safe environment for the children to express their thoughts and feelings about the pandemic and how the major changes and disruptions affected them personally.
Fr. Loreto Jaque also led the children in their meditation and boosted their imagination through creative visualization exercises. These activities were very relaxing for children and enabled them to create their own stories out of their imagination.
Then, the campers were guided to see and discover their individual talents and strengths to eventually realise that they too can provide help and solutions.
This was indeed a journey full of discoveries that superheroes have feelings, they also have fears, and make mistakes. And what makes them superheroes is that they do not give up. Superheroes need friends and family to bring out the best in them and accomplish their mission. What really makes one a hero is LOVE. It is this love that moves them to use and share their superpowers for the greater good of humanity starting with their family & friends.
MY SUPERHERO ENCOUNTER organised by Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS) and RAFI-Center for Leaders was held last July 6-10, 2020 5-day / Virtual Camp from 10am to 12pm.
